CITADEL 2022
In 2022 Citadel held their 8th annual gala this years theme was A Night At The Moulin Rouge. The night was full of exciting performances including the big Can Can performance. This year had its share of challenges from load in days full of thunderstorms to the tent arrangement changing the first day of load in.
THE TENT
The tent was always a struggle to light in years past. Previous years we only had an option to mount lights to the polls. this year I designed a truss rig that would allow us to add more lighting and light the room effectively and efficiently.

THE POOL
Following previous years I kept a similar design but removed spot fixtures. I instead added pars to give a nightclub feeling and save on weight and power.

DESIGN
The initial designs started 2 month before the event. I had phone calls to discuss the needs and wants of the client and got to work making a design that would satisfy everyone.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Citadel Theatre is a professional theatre company based in Lake Forest, Illinois, one hour north of Chicago. They do more than just theatre they teach camps all year long to bring out the Broadway star in every kid. This gala helps raise money for these camps to continue to grow that mission.
